Maryland Taxpayers get a Short Term Win

Maryland Legislative session ended this past week, the surprise was, we are finally getting spending cuts without a tax increase.  I’d like to say it was because of the efforts of the Republicans however we all know there aren’t enough Republicans to stop anything the Democrat Bullies in Annapolis want.

No, this credit of what they call “Dooms Day” cuts in the State Budget goes to the bungling and incompetents of the Leadership in the two chambers and Governor O’Malley who was too busy campaigning for Obama, telling lies about Governor McDonnell (BTW Virginia has a surplus) and pushing for a 7% sales tax.  While other Democrats like Mike Miller and the PG Delegation was pushing for casinos and slot parlors in an attempt to turn PG County into another Atlantic City.

A mist of all this infighting and bickering the Maryland Taxpayers have come away the winners.  The spending now will have to be cut, no taxes are going up.  I call that a win, although it is only a short term win.  O’Malley will call the legislators back into session to pass his tax increases.  In the meantime responsible good citizens of Maryland should contact their Delegates and Senators tell them not to raise taxes!!!
